Sometimes, thinking back, going to the lake was one of the best experiences I had as a child. We would pack the cooler full of drinks, bring food & snacks, and head off bright and early into the mornings early sunshine. I wanted to write an article giving you guys some tips for planning ahead. Here are some of the best things to bring to the lake. I’ve also included some of the best things to SEE at the LAKE!
Some people love being guided when they go to the lake. This is why many companies provide boat tours. Some tours are on steam boats, some are on ferries, others are on rowboats & speed boats. Our favorite boat tour is at Saguaro Lake, AZ. The name of the boat tour is The Desert Belle. The Desert Belle is famous for having live music, 90 minute narrated cruises, and a specialty wine cruise that is offered most Wednesdays of the week. The Desert Belle boat tour is a perfect way to relax during the middle of the week.

Many lake-goers enjoy doing many different things while at the lake. My first time at Saguaro Lake, Arizona I rode a stand-up jetski, a 450cc. I could barely stand up at times when riding the jetski. Such an odd piece of equipment, yet so much fun! I highly advise you to try a sit down jetski though, as they are simply more relaxing.
Another great thing to do at the lake is go fishing! Don’t forget the fishing pole, bait & tackle. Some of the best fish to catch at Saguaro Lake, Arizona are rainbow trout, large mouth bass, small mouth bass, yellow bass, sunfish, walleye, crappie, & catfish. Saguaro Lake makes for perfect bass fishing with amazing scenery & food!
Speed Boating is a dangerous yet exhilarating sport/hobby. Most all boat engines vary in shape, type, & size. Even if it’s a rainy day, or very windy, speed boaters can still have a great time at the lake. In choppy waters speed boats can maintain 25 mph, but while in calm water they can travel well over 90mph. This is where the danger lies. Be safe out there!
